Info: Rádio Macau is a Portuguese band formed in Algueirão, Mem Martins, in the early 1980s. In 1993, the band suspended its activities, citing exhaustion and a desire to embark on other experiences. They reunited as a band in 1998 and returned to recording in 2000, with a different sound. The band’s main hit is the song “O Anzol” (“The Hook”), which was included on their third album, O Elevador da Glória (The Glória Elevator). “O Anzol” was released as a single in 1988, and its sound was compared to “Just Like Heaven” by the English band The Cure, which had been released as a single in October 1987. In 2025, the band returned to the spotlight on the day Xana celebrated his 60th birthday. The special date was marked by a unique concert at Casa de Pedra, in Parque da Bela Vista, Lisbon.
