Info: Miguel Araújo is a Portuguese musician, songwriter, and performer. In addition to the songs released under his own name, he regularly writes for other artists. He began to enjoy music in 1989, influenced by his uncles, who had a cover band playing songs from the 1960s and 1970s. He became known as a member of the band Os Azeitonas, under the pseudonym Miguel AJ (or Miguel Araújo Jorge). Os Azeitonas were formed in 2002 during a university trip. In 2012, he released his first solo album, Cinco Dias e Meio. This album includes hits such as “Os Maridos das Outras”, “Reader’s Digest”, “Autopsicodiagnose”, “Fizz Limão”, and “Capitão Fantástico.” The song Os Maridos das Outras gained significant recognition for its simple and original melody and its playful lyrics, which toy with stereotypes about marriage and gender differences. The album reached the top 3 of sales in Portugal. The successor was released in 2014 and is titled Crónicas da Cidade Grande. The album entered directly into the top 3 of the Portuguese album sales chart. In 2016, Os Azeitonas announced on social media that Miguel Araújo had left the Porto-based band to focus on his solo career. Giesta, Miguel Araújo’s third album of original songs, was released in 2017. In 2021, the album Peixe Azul was released, recorded during the 2020 lockdown. In 2022, the album Chá Lá Lá was released, and in 2025 he released the EP Cê Barra. His most recent album was released in 2026 and is titled Por Fora Ninguém Diria.
