Info: John Grant is an American singer-songwriter. He launched his career as a solo artist, after his former band The Czars broke up. The Czars, were an alternative rock band he formed in 1994 in Denver. Following the band's breakup, Grant took some time off from making music, and returned to recording and performing on April 2010 with his debut solo album Queen of Denmark. Described as a deeply personal album about his past struggles with alcohol and drug addiction and coming to terms with being gay, it was chosen as Best Album of 2010 by the British music magazine Mojo. Pale Green Ghosts, the second solo album, was released in March 2013. The title refers to the Russian olive trees that stand along the I-25 highway near Grant's family home in the small town of Parker, Colorado. Pale Green Ghosts was chosen as Album of the Year 2013 by Rough Trade. In 2015, his third solo studio album, Grey Tickles, Black Pressure was received with critical acclaim.
