Info: How to Dress Well is the stage name of experimental pop producer, singer, and ethereal/R&B artist Tom Krell. Krell is a 27-year-old PHD student based in Cologne, Germany, but born in Chicago. Beginning in 2009, Krell started to turn out free EPs online, in which he minted a 'hipster R&B' sound. His debut album, Love Remains, was released in 2010. It received a score of 8.7 and the "Best New Music" designation from music review site Pitchfork Media. After introducing the How to Dress Well sound, Krell copped comparisons to everyone from Ariel Pink to Bon Iver, The-Dream, and Justin Timberlake; but his trailblazing sound was his own, and soon inspired a legion of imitators. His debut album, Love Remains, assembled the best of his early EPs, and was one of the best albums of 2010. In September 2012, Krell released his sophomore effort, Total Loss, which likewise garnered huge critical acclaim, including the "Best New Music" designation from music review site Pitchfork Media.
